Accommodation
The lodge consists
of eight luxuriously appointed double suites, two of which have
inter-leading rooms for families, that look out onto boundless
horizons and the magnificent Zuurberg mountains. The suites offer
two with inter-leading rooms; en-suite bathroom with bath, separate
shower, washbasin and toilet. Air-conditioning, television, mini-bar,
ceiling fan, safes and laundry facilities
Activities
Activities include
tailor-made Big Game viewing drives or alternative wildlife experiences
with professional field guides. Game may be viewed either in the
Nyati concession to which River Bend has exclusive access, or
in the original areas of the Addo Elephant National Park, which
River Bend guests access through a private entrance. This area
is home to the densest elephant population on earth and together
with buffalo, black rhino and a variety of antelope including
eland, zebra and hartebees makes a visit a memorable experience.
Self drive day trips to historic Grahamstown and easy access to
the fabulous Garden route are also an option. Pamper yourself
with a massage and beauty treatment by the resident qualified
therapist in the Vitality Studio - a flawless
ritual for reviving flagging spirits. For
those who prefer to just relax, there's tea and tiny cakes in
the magnificent gardens alongside the sparkling swimming pool
or recline with a good book in our library.
Wildlife
River Bend Lodge is
a situated within the Addo National Park and close to many other
Big 5 Game Reservers. So whether experiencing the majesty of elephant
herds gathering by the waterhole, or encounters at matchlessly
close range, the Gorah experience is totally unique. And perfectly
compliments your Garden Route Adventure.
With arguably the best elephant viewing in South Africa,
Addo is also the domain of the Big 5, numerous antelope species
and a wealth of birdlife.
Access
River Bend Lodge is a Private Concession
of the Addo Elephant Park a mere 70 km from Port Elizabeth and
can be reached by road or flight into PE airport.
